ISLAMABAD (AFP) – Pakistan's Supreme Court on Wednesday barred main opposition leader and former premier Nawaz Sharif from holding office and contesting elections, sparking political turmoil in the nuclear-armed nation.
The court order also applied to his brother Shahbaz Sharif, leading to the immediate collapse of his government in the central Punjab province, Pakistan's most populous state and the country's political heartland. Tujh se koi gilla nahin hai
Qismat main meri silla nahin nahi
Bichar ke to na-janey kia haal ho
Jo shakhs abhi milla nahi hai
Jeeney ki to aarzu hi kab thi
Marney ka bhi hosla nahin hai
Jo zeest ko mu-tabir bana dey
Aesa koi silsila nahin hai
Khushboo ka hisaab ho chuka
Aur phool abhi khilla nahi hai
Sershaari-e-rehbari main dekha
Peechy mera qafilla nahin hai
Ek thais pe dil ka phoot behna
Chooney mein to aabla nahi hai ... Read More

Comet Lulin will pass within 38 million miles - 160 times farther than the moon - of the Earth and is expected to be visible to the naked eye. Discovered only a year ago, the comet gains its green colour from poisonous cyanogen and diatomic carbon gases in its atmosphere.

I saw Yasin malik walking with a few men, very casually,in the Jinnah Super Market of Islamabad. Having seen him on tv as a Kashimiri leader I could not imagine him shopping in Pakistan!
After watching the news of his marraige the pieces of the puzzle fell in place. Even politicians are human enough to shop on their weddings. I wish him and the brave girl all the happiness, always. Ameen.
Kashmiri separatist leader Yasin Malik on Sunday tied the knot with Britain-born Pakistani ... Read More

Misconception # 1: It is not civilized to have more than one wife at a time.Reply: The only religious book that says: “? then marry only once” is the
Quran, the holy book of the Muslims. This injunction is not found in the
Christian Bible, in the Hindu Geeta, or in the Jewish holy book etc. In the
Bible there are so many references to various prophets and kings who had
numerous wives. Abraham had three wives, while King Solomon had seven
hundred wives, etc. ... Read More

Our big cities are crowded but people are lonely. My grand parents lived in a small city of Pakistan and I have very clear memories of their social life. People did not used to get ready and make phone calls before visiting their friends. Infact they lived in a close knit social setup called "mohalla" where their houses were joined on the roofs and everyone knew each other. Their kids play together after school. The ladies can call and ask ... Read More
