I was reminded of an incident when my sister-in-law used a raw onion to avoid spreading of flu in a room where more than one people were staying. She cut an onion into four pieces and placed it on a shelf in the room where one person was suffering from flu. I know we had to bear with the not so pleasant smell of an onion but fortunately avoided the spread of infection.
