I first heard of eczema when my 3 year old had a skin problem where her skin became itchy and inflammed  on her cheeks, legs and arms. Her doctor said it is child eczema and will subside as she grows. The prescription was, as you may have  guessed, a steroidal cream which works like magic but has many side effects. I decided not to use this cream and go for a alternate medicine(hakeem as we call a herbal doctor in urdu) solution to this problem. I used virgin coconut oil on her skin and it started showing signs of improvements in days. I have to tell you that her eczema was very mild but her skin is clear since then. Be careful not to use products that contain fragrance or chemical substances. Natural oils make a far better alternative, in helping to moisturize and hydrate  skin. What is particularly useful to know is that the constituents of natural oils are perfect for the body. Virgin coconut oil is one of  the best natural eczema treatments that you can find around.

Eczyma is generally considered an allergic problem. The incidence of eczema has been steadily increasing for many years even though medical science continues to make ever more powerful steroid type drugs for the problem. Eczyma is often associated with food intolerances and with Multiple Chemical Sensitivity from exposure to many chemicals over a period of time

To avoid eczyma we should always keep our skin hydrated or moisturized. Use natural oils for moisturizing in the morning and at night too because our skin is exposed to chemicals all the time.

The incidence of severe eczyma seems to be directly related to the proliferation of chemicals in our diets, environment and in personal care products applied to the skin and used in the mouth. Toiletries which at first glance would appear innocuous and benign could well be a major contributing factor in the onset of eczema and other disorders in children and adults alike. Many of the toxic chemicals in toiletries, cosmetics, medicines, enviroment and food  could be more harmful than ever thought possible.
