So-called Miss Pakistan World Ayesha Gilani, who represented her country at the Miss Tourism Queen International pageant in Zengzhou, China last month, shares her views on the modern Pakistani woman’s right to enter such shows. She says “ The pageant queen is one who is supposed to represent the epitome of beauty, inside and out. Naturally, the first feature one notices on another individual is the exterior. In beauty pageants, a contestant is required to be physically appealing as well as intellectual. There’s nothing wrong with celebrating the beauty of a woman; it is a God-given gift.”
I have a simple question for Ayesha Gilani, did she take any official permission from the governament of Pakistan to use the name of our country to show of her beauty which she claims to celebrate. She lives and works in US and if she claims to be Miss Pakistan then she should own Pakistan first, come and live here. I don’t think one needs a beauty contest of the sort to tell the world that our woman is independent and confident. Who says that taking off your clothes makes you more confident or respectable?
If these girls want their beauty to be appreciated in these ways then they should not use the name of Pakistan. You can click here to read her full interview and please comment if you are happy if pakistani women take part in such shows. We do have a voice, this is democracy afterall!!

she is neither a pakistani nor a muslim….even mentioning people like these is a waste of time….
These are the facts
1. Divorced twice
2. Born in USA
3. Never graduated from college or masters
4. She parties harder than Johnny Knoxville. see below
http://www.pakistaniscandals.com
Enough said.
I think it is ok to celebrate one’s beauty but only if it is done in a modest and classy way.
So much arrogance and no humility.
Saif you proved she’s a drinker buy showing pictures but how can you prove shes married and divorced twice and does not have education. In interview she said shes going for masters.. Pakistanion ko sharam hoti hain isko tou koi sharam he nahe.. In the holy month of ramadan shes cat walking on stage in two piece bikini.
ALL OF YOU NEED TO STOP HATING ON HER. I KNOW HER PERSONALLY AND SHE IS BEAUTIFUL IN AND OUT. AP LOOG SARE ….
@ you are all haters…….shut up and stop trying to impose this crap on others….hum log saare theek kehtay hain……TUM LOGON NE RELIGION AUR CULTURE KO MAZAQ BANAYA HUA HAI……kisi aur ghatiya blog per ja ker apne views share karo…
“In the holy month of ramadan shes cat walking on stage in two piece bikini.”
prove it??? that’s a lie
So jaani wat else do you think modelling is about, if its not about exposing your body…. Anyways folks, reading to most of your opinions was a relieve that still we have “Pakistan ka mutlub kia La ilaha illallah” in our blood…
Just keep up these spirits and i’m telling you if all of us come down to our orthodox teachings, ppl like zardari can never rule us… Thanx for sharing
why you guys trying to teach each other everyone has its own opinion and we have to respect every one self right and opinion no matter its right or wrong. do you think she really cares what you say. nobody just try to clean your own home and mind. kichar ke cheentoon se khud bacho na ke kichar ko bolo kay woh hat jaey.
God Bless you all
Dear Babar Sahib, Please keep in your mind that she is using the name of our religion, society and country. And we all have the right to stop such non sense and filthy representation of our nation. Who said that she belongs to Pakistan. She lives in USA, and have a crown of second degraded citizen and shame on her family for backing her this vulgar act. Islam has given the utmost honor to the women and ordered them to veil their selves from namahrams. The religions of universe, discourage the display of their bodies in this way. Its a much lengthy topic to discuss and I want to cut it short by saying that these are the peoples who caused great damage not only to our country and society but also to our religion. May Almighty Allah guide us all to the right path and save us all from all sins. Ameen.
If the main qualification isn’t met , how can one compete in this competition?
From MiSS EarTH WEBSITE
QUALIFICATIONS OF A NATIONAL CANDIDATE:
****NEVER BEEN MARRIED, single, never given birth*****
1. 18-26 years of age
2. Minimum height of 5 feet 5 inches
3. Posses beauty of face and proportionate body structure
Outgoing and friendly
Excellent physical condition
Has knowledge of her country’s culture and environment
To the writer of this article, first off, the Pakistani government banned the Miss Pakistan pageant from the country itself. That’s why all the Pakistani pageants live OUTSIDE the country. The permission was given to her directly through the Miss Pakistan pageant committee which is based in North America. Apparently she met all the qualifications to receive such a title.
Tell me, what IS a typical Pakistani family/mentality like? I can tell you. It’s people that are strung so far away from Islam and bent on Hindu culture that it’s sadly nothing like Islam. Most fail in family relations. I’m unhappy to say that the typical traditional Pakistani family is consisted of none other than gossip about others, whereas they cannot fix their own home before attempting to fix others’. You want to talk about Islam? Fix your own habits first and most importantly, none of you have the right to judge a single other soul, be they Christan, Jew, Hindu, or even Muslim. The Holy Qur’an (45:14) specifically states: “Tell those who believe, to forgive the people who do not look forward to the days of Allah. It is for Him to recompense each people according to what they have earned.” Only God truly knows what is in each person’s heart and why they choose the paths they do.
Peace.
“Apparently she met all the qualifications to receive such a title.”
Appearently she didn’t
hey all guys…yaar she is not sooooo important k hum log is ki burayaan ya is ko discuss ker k chugliyaan ker k gunnah apney ser lain…she is not so imp…leave her…she will go to hell…no matter she is mariied or not or wht else…coz muslims jaisey bhe hoo..nangey nhi phirtey…n she is ..no doubt..!!!
I think its fine whatever she is doing for her publicity but then she shouldn’t be using the name of pakistan….she should just model and be a socialite.
good point shaista.. i have no objections with having a miss pakistan represent the country. But at least she would have one whose educationally qualified and one without such a questionable past.
Any pakistani girl willing to come on stage, strip down to a bikini without any remorse has no conscience. Forget religion for a moment. Pakistan is made up of muslims, christians, hindus. But any girl who thinks she is helping her country by showing her body is dead wrong.
I don’t mind progress for pakistani women, actually, i welcome equal rights, status and forward thinking. There are many way to be proactive, and frankly men and women should strive to make pakistan better by some of these things
1. Get educated
2. Be Political active
3. Be socially and morally correct
But, being a beauty pageant does nothing to uplift pakistani girls. The country is in a war situation, and all these girls can do is walk up and down the ramp and show off their skins. Girls who enter these pagaents are nothing more than attention deprived souls without any regard towards their country.
I honestly don’t think the judges or viewers watching these girls give any thought about which country they represent. All people see is flesh, makeup, tight bodies, and a lot of skin. Period.
That’s the truth. deal with it. Comment if u disagree
kia yar ap log aj kuch ziada e islami ban rhe ho
its democracy janies,
jiska jo dil kre kr sakta hei
or iss bechari k peechey q par gey ho.
just close this topic and chil up
she iz cute & beautifull
plz iskop koi kuch na kaho
The scandal in it…
u all have dual standerads. if she approach u u all will well come her. grapes are sour.
All I’m going to say are facts..
She HAS been married/divorced twice along with being engaged to several others. I’m sure if you try hard enough you’ll find pictures..
However, whatever she does is her personal business. No one has the right to judge her, if you really care that much.. pray for her and for the future of Pakistan.
Also, you guys are right about one thing, she shouldn’t be flaunting herself in the name of Pakistan. Yes, Pakistani women should be independent and confident but our religion asks us to be a tad bit more modest about it.
Everyone has their own perspectives ofcourse but think as a non-judging human being first, no matter how ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ the target might be. That would make this world a much more better place.
Bless you guys!
I second MomentOfTruth.
well put momentoftruth.
If she represents the most UGLY Miss Pakistan 2009 then YES she should have won. Are you freggin kidding me?! The girls looks like a cross between a hobbit and yoda…except she’s rumored to be a Paris Hilton wannabe.
Argh…we need strong, empowered and smart women to represent us. I can also name 10 girls that are not only MORE beautiful than her, but also happen to have degrees, who will probably influence policy making for the Pakistani American community, but also have a love for Pakistan that this supposed “Miss Pakistan” doesn’t.
Furthermore, why the hell didn’t any other Pakistani woman or man know that this pageant was going on in Canada? Then I am sure the real competitors would have come out.
shes short and anorexic looking….and old too..she looks like shes in her early 30s? but then if you see all the other contestants in the pageant you know exactly why she won.
Who cares if she’s married/divorced, didn’t go to college, lied about her age, it’s none of your business.. How does that impact your lives personally? It doesn’t. If it does, you are some lonely mofos looking for a quick high.
I really enjoyed reading through your web log posts, and I’ve added in you to my AOL reader.
I think the lady who writes this blog is just plain jealous of this lady and the Miss Pakistan World pageant. For those ignorant people, just google it. okay!
Ayesha Gilani is a beautiful, self-assured woman. The whole world
loves her. Pakistan should be so proud and honored to have her represent them. I wish her the best of luck in all her endeavors.
In response to MomentofTruth: It is quite bigoted and ignorant of you to be
so concerned with her marital status. Doesn’t your country allow men to
have FOUR wives. You are staying in the 12th century while the rest of the
world passes you by.
Martha Currin / TruthSeeker
i have known ayesha gilani for almost 5 years
shes married twice and divorced
i went to her mendhi they invited our family because we lived on the same street as them and as for the pageant a girl cannot be married speak before you know your facts
we still live in the 21st century and are way smart and educated the only difference between you and us is that we dont whore out our sister’s and mother’s.
and yes we do marry many times.
In response to Hashi: You may be Pakistani educated but you are not Western educated or you would know that you commit “libel” when you call someone a whore or slut unless you can prove the statement to be true. This is a punishable offense by law. Wearing a bikini doesn’t make someone a whore. I feel sympathy for Pakistani women because they don’t have the real freedom to choose what to do with their lives, usually even including whom they marry. Yes, you live in the 21st century, but you don’t live as a 21st century person. If you want the rest of the world to take your country seriously, give women some rights. (By the way, having “rights” means that the men in your life don’t totally dominate you).
And it means that you don’t throw acid in girls faces when their only crime is going to school.
But, we digress here. The point is, Ayesha Gilani is a beautiful, well-spoken woman. She has done Pakistan a huge favor by aligning herself with this country and letting the world see that there are some Pakistani women who are smart and beautiful.
The comments I made earlier about the backward thinking of some
Pakistanis were meant for the likes of Tahir and Najeeb Ali Khan. They are the lowest of the low because they distort religion to try to force their own personal agendas of keeping women down. I would ask them to explain why Pakistan is a 3rd World country if they understand so much.
Moment-of-Truth actually seems to be a more modern Pakistani.
One way to bring Pakistan up to date is to give women some freedoms, and stop trying to enforce your own prejudices.
Ayesha Gilani is proof that if these women can get away from you Taliban types, they can accomplish much. And, by the way, you don’t own her, so mind your own business.
you may be pakistani edcuated but not western educated wtf does this even matter as long as i am educated
if you care so much about pakistani women then go to pakistan and help them out what are you doing on a blog replying to every single comment people are leaving here
not everyone can have the same thinking as you when people dont agree to something that doesent make them uneducated.
not all five fingers are the same and this also applies to all humans living on this earth
no i dont throw acid on women nor do i abuse them ever since i was young my mother always told me to respect women and never ever hurt them because i have a sister also.
I reply to these comment, Hashi, because it amuses me.
It is hilarious to observe your responses, “I respect women because I
have a sister”.
Yeah, right, what you mean is that you respect women only so long as they have the same thinking as you. If they do something you don’t approve of, suddenly the “respect” disappears.
Take note of your more prosperous neighbor, India. They have benefited
greatly by giving women more rights.
This is America, Jamil. Women have the right to speak their minds. If you were capable of rational thought, you would realize that I am actually trying to help Pakistani women by speaking out for their rights to do as they please.
It amuses me when overbearing men like you claim to respect women. You “respect” them only when they do exactly as you want them to do. If a woman chooses a different path, such as wearing a bathing suit in public, then you call her a whore. As you stated, not all five fingers are the same. Some women choose to wear bathing suits in public. That is her right, whether you like it or not.
Have you ever noticed that a country’s prosperity is directly linked to the amount of freedom women have? But of course you and your kind are too
frightened of losing control of your women to do what’s best for the country.
The difference between a muslim and non-muslim is the concept of hereafter. If you believe that there will a day when every one has to answer his/her deeds, than, the whole scenario changes. Most of the comments are dealing with our present life in this world which may or may not lost for average 60 years, what about the rest.
Allah Subhanahu Wataalah created the whole universe with such a balance that the modern science have no option but to appreciate it. When Allah orders are mocked (Astaghfirullah) it dosn’t contribute but to the imbalance, which leads to disaster.
Only the Jinns and the Humans are given the choice. This choice balance or imbalance the society, culture and so on.
Remember every thing you write, every word you utter is being recorded with the intension behind it. No one can see the intension but opinion will will have an impact here and in hereafter. Come on, give it a thought…. The choice is ours and this is our test.
http://www.worldbeautycongress.com/winners-2010/
Currently she is saying she won this contest. Are u freakin joking?? folks another lie.. clearly miss pakistan did not win this pagaent. not hating but it is what i
1
read this carefully this is the profile of miss pakistan ayesha gilani who claims that she is 25 years old according to her profile but on the interview on youtube she stated that she is 27 years old which means by now shes 28 or more than that
because you know how fake this pageant is
http://www.modelmayhem.com/1617350
2
a lie about her height hahaha she is 5″3 and that is for sure
some sources on their website mention that shes 5″7 but on her profile she lost some height and became 5″5
Truth Teller,
You still have not acknowledged the fact that she’s been married twice and divorced twice. She should, for that reason alone, not be allowd to be Miss Pakistan. I have no issues with her, but the rules are the rules. What do you have to say to that?
I meant to ask Truth Seeker, not Truth Teller.
YOU GUYS ARE ALL HATERS!! BUNCH OF STUPID IDIOTS THAT KNOW NOTHING!
SHES A KIND SWEET BEAUTIFUL HUMAN BEING, THAT DESERVES EVERYTHING SHE HAS!!!!!!!!!
“Truth Seeker”, maybe you should change your name since the only thing you ‘seek’ is what you misinterpret in that pea brain of yours. I could care less about what she does with her life, I was only clearing up the FACTS so everyone would stop making assumptions.
Furthermore, what the HELL does ‘modern’ mean?!
Drinking? Partying? Sex? “Slutty” clothing? Disobeying your religion? Having a negative opinion towards conservatives? No.
That does not by any means make an individual modern or define who they are, those things are a part of one’s lifestyle. (that’s a statement towards you all).
For you (Truth Seeker) to even use the word ‘modern’ is extremely “Pakistani” of you.
You’re actually the most pathetic person to comment this blog because you’re contradicting yourself in every way.
Atleast the people who are calling others “haters” or calling Ayesha a whore actually have an opinion and roll with it.
You’re just a pathetic loser who doesn’t even seem to have an opinion and are just enjoying arguing with other bloggers.
Get a life. Read a book. And as Azhar said, most of us are just acknowledging the fact that she broke every rule to be Miss Pakistan and also to enter the international competitions. Like really, what were they supposd to do? Turn her back and ask the bootlegged Miss Pakistan Team to come up with another winner that ACTUALLY fulfills all the requirements? No?!
But that’s not her fault. Out of the rest of the candidates I’d be shocked if she didn’t win. The Miss Pakistan Team needs to just raise up their standards and actually do background checks… then maybe they wouldn’t be so… well, bootleg.
Okay I started rambling.. my bad, but those things had to be said. lol
I still stand by my first comment that I had left. Read it and actually understand it.
Also, to “bang bang”… she doesn’t claim she won that competition, she won the title of Beauty of ASIA.
I know her personally and she’s NOT my favorite person, and that’s just my opinion. However, I’m not on anyone’s side, but when any of you say something, do your research before you talk shit.
Thanks!
(and yes, I was bored which is why I wrote an essay, no need to talk shit about that now:))
Oh and one more thing “Truth Seeker”.
Islam does NOT “allow” men to have four wives for fun.
The Qur’an clearly states that having more than one wife is ONLY for either the protection or for helping those other 3 women WITH THE PERMISSION of the first wife. Also, the first wife has all rights over the husbands possessions and should have the most say in every decision. The rest of the 3 are just entitled to have everything equally whether it be money, time, or just sex.
I’m sure many men have distorted this concept but in the end of the day, those men are dogs. Islam gives women so many rights… if ignorant people decide to pretend they’re “religious” and do things the male dominant way, then that has absolutely NOTHING to do with my beautiful country or Islam for that matter.
I was born and raised in America, knowing my roots does not mean I’m ignorant you pathetic ….
Once again people, stop making assumptions and actually RESEARCH on whatever the hell you would like to dream to have a VALID opinion on.
MomentofTruth,
Your comment, “I was born and raised in America” explains why you are not quite as backward and bigoted as your brothers in Pakistan. Your children will be even more Americanized unless you take them back to Pakistan.
It is interesting to see how Pakistani girls here shed that veil and start
dressing and thinking like Americans. You are very free with your moral judgments but remember, that is just your opinion.
And you’ve provoked me to point out some uncomfortable truths about your prophet, Mohammed. He married a six year old girl and had sex with her when she was nine years old. It is our opinion in the West that this is child molestation. He would have been jailed for obscenity.
When his armies would conquer people, they would rape the women on the same day they killed their husbands and sell women and children into slavery. Pakistanis in the West are embarrassed about these facts and usually deny them, but it is the truth.
The Taliban are being true to their religion. The nut doesn’t fall far from the tree.
Where in the WORLD are you getting your info hunnie?!
You have no idea what you’re talking about. Ignorant people like yourself is what causes issues in the world.
