I had to visit the private ward of a local hospital (PIMS) for past one week. The ward is well equipped and a lot economical as compared to the much hyped private hospital (Shifa International ) in Islamabad. I wish to write a detail account of comparison between these two big hospitals of my city.

Flowers

As I used to walk past the beautiful lawns in front of the ward every morning and admired the flowers. I always noticed a bunch of visitors or the attendants of the patients sitting in these lawns. On interaction with a few ladies I came to know there were three elderly men suffering from lung ailments and one of them who happened to be my relative was a chain smoker in his youth. Did you notice the “no smoking” board in the picture above?

Now have a closer look at these lawns where the young attendants sit to get refreshed!. I was shocked to notice these pieces of trash or you may call them pieces left of cigarette. Why do we need a shock to mend our ways? The warning on the pack does not ring an alarm because we think this will happen to others and not to us! Leave this harmful habit before its too late.

Those of you who smoke please save your children from the agony of a son who sits and stares at his dad in hospital bed….

I believe in the power of human mind and I know each and everyone of us have the courage to overcome the craving of a cigarette! Our mind should control our actions don’t let your desires rule your life.
