Parenting is such a difficult job and you can not get trained for it. Everytime we read and observe to find new things and regret the things we should have or could have done. But even if we start today ....its not late.
I read this very interesting list of things and realized how often we , the parents, who claim to love the child the most, do not let the child be a child!

Today on the "World Autism Awareness Day" I would like to share that observing an autistic child has been a learning experience for me. When I met him first he refused to shake hands and make eye contact. Treating him like any other child and being an ill-informed person on the subject it took me weeks to realize he is different. Until that time he became quite upset and aggressive.
He got admitted in my preschool group when he was not ... Read More

Every morning I see tens of workers cleaning the streets of Islamabad but the sad part is when these people have a holiday on Sunday our streets are littered in one day. It says a lot about the general attitude of people. We think it is others duty to clean and we have a right to throw litter where ever we want to.
Anti-littering drive has started in Islamabad for celebrating the golden jubilee of our capital city. CDA chairman, Imtiaz ... Read More

Jab mere bachpan k din thay chaand mein pariyaan rahti thi
Ek yeh din jab apnoon ne bhi humse naatha thod liya
Ek wo din jab ped ki shaakhein bhoj humara sahti thi
Ek yeh din jab sari sadkein sooni sooni lagti hain
Ek wo din jab aao khelein saari galiyaan kahti thi
Ek yeh din jab jaagi raatein deewaaroon ko thakti hain

Remember the days when we had those bulky VCRs and video cassettes which no one uses now. I often think how to dispose them off. Now get ready for the nail size memory cards for the movies and once the Japanes will launch them we will get the cheap chinese versions available all over the place!
(Reuters)22 July 2009
Walt Disney Co’s Japan unit said it would sell movies on flash memory cards as small as a fingernail so that people can ... Read More

1-Adhan
Muhammad Hassan!
Muhammad Hassan!
Come call Adhan,
And bring all the muslims to prayer.
Bring them from the factory,
Bring them from the school,
Bring them from their comfy beds,
And from their easy chair.
Call them in the morning,
Call them in the night,
Call everyone to Islam,
Call them to the light.
2-Three good boys (based on 'three blind mice')
Three good boys
Three good boys
See how they pray,
See how they pray,
They pray together in a very straight line,
And follow the Imam in perfect time;
They're three good boys.
Three good boys
Three good boys

Standing in the queue
and waiting for my turn..
My memories fly back to a small house
With lush gardens and flower streams
My mother's calling for meal
Playing with my friends and running in the fields
Here I am lost in my dreams
Packed in a small room is my family waiting for food
My feet are sour, my limbs are weary
Gone are the gardens and the flowing streams
The laughters, the gatherings and my little dreams
Gone is the school, the books and bags
Friends and family are now ... Read More

When I wrote two posts about urdu nursery rhymes, I should have started with "Lab-pe-aati" by Allama Iqbal. Today is Allama Iqbal's death anniversery and I do not have the words to pay tribute to this great poet. I will just write this amazing poem which he wrote for kids. I still have memories of standing in assembly, at school, singing lab-pe-aati every morning.
Bachey ki dua ( From Baang-e-dara)
Lab pe aati hai dua ban ke tammana meri
Zindagii shamma ki soorat ... Read More

We have met our long lost school and college friends on facebook which we never imagined meeting again in life. Some of us now live in different continents. So on one hand it has brought us closer and on the other hand when we go on facebook several times a day it takes us away from the people we live close to. Multiple visits on such social networking sites result in wastage of time
A research has confirmed what many parents and ... Read More
