People of India and Pakistan suffer by losing their dear ones in terrorist attacks like the one which took place in Mumbai. As a result bilateral ties between the two countries have suffered. Any event of the sort leaves India and Pakistan back to where they started from, enemies!. All talks about common roots, friendship, people to people contacts, etc evaporates quickly. Governments jump to decisions like not even playing cricket with each other. Today India has officially cancelled the tour to Pakistan, which is a sad news for the cricket lovers. Politicians in India may think that they will gain a sympathy vote by such actions, i hope they are wrong! Politicians should not paly with people’s emotions and decide to be friends or foes? and stick to it.

LAHORE: Chief operating officer Pakistan Cricket Board Saleem Altaf has said here on Thursday that an official of the Indian cricket board, Shashant Mehra sent an e-mail to PCB chairman Ijaz Butt informing the cancellation of the Indian team’s tour of Pakistan.

Saleem Altaf said that after India cancelled the tour, Sri Lankan board would be contacted to finalise their team’s tour of Pakistan for playing the series of three Tests, three One-day Internationals and a Twenty20 cricket match.

Replying to a question, he said that the International Cricket Council (ICC) would not be contacted after the sudden cancellation of the tour by India because the Indian board has not refused to tour but it was refused on government level.
