Load shedding has started again and being realistic we know its duration will increase in summer. Now we do not have light for 5 hours in 24 hours. Last year we installed a local made UPS but it failed. It started giving probems within a few months and was completely out of order in an year. The shop keeper took it back at 25% price which is a huge loss.
This year I am not planning to invest more in this. In summer there are two basic issues, light and heat. These two are basic because our tv, fridge, computer,water motor and all other home appliances will also not work without electricity but lets forget all these and concentrate on heat and light. I do not want to grumble all summer about it. Lets program our minds and settle down.
My light
A relative came from US and brought this head lamp( the one in the picture). I think this is a perfect solution to the light problem! All the people should have one head lamp on their heads (just imagine) and do their work without holding a torch or a candle. I do everything using this from cooking to cleaning. Its price range is from $7 to $24. Normal batteries are used and gives a light time of around 35-40 hours. If your friends and relatives are coming from US, this is the gift to ask for!
My plan is to use a hand fan for air ( you must be thinking what is new in this). New is the spirit!

I think u should go to Metro and buy an imported ups , it would be good enough donot buy it with the dry battery.just buy a local battery of 200 amp and use it with imported ups,. I have two local ups at home but one of them is on any given time is not working so i have to get it done from it manufacturer who happens to be a costomer so the repairs r free . The shop keeper robbed u by buying back for 25% u could have it repaired for some hundred.
