We in Pakistan are having a full dose of terrorism and are giving our precious blood to fight it on our own soil. We have assumed that swine flu is happening in other countries only BUT I request the government to take at least the precautionary measures because we have people coming to Pakistan from all over the world. Our airports are not equipped to deal with the sick travellers. People who provided us with the security cameras forgot to give us any preventive gadgets for this serious situation. (God forbid) Therr is no need to be alarmed as we have bigger issues like inflation, bombs etc….just add a few things in daily routine for the sake of everyone around us.
We all should follow these steps( paak saaf pakistan)!!
1.) Wash hands before you eat or prepare food/beverages. Wash your hands after coming home from outside and after sneezing or coughing.
2.) Eat a piece of raw garlic after each meal. If you don’t like the taste, chop it up first, then just swallow it down. (It may cause a slightly sick feeling in your upper stomach, however). Cooking garlic breaks down the antioxidants in it. Therefore, it’s less effective when cooked.
3.) DON’T use bleach or harsh chemicals on everything!! The vapors or the chemicals themselves can actually damage your immune system, making you more prone to infection.
4.) don’t use “antibacterial” soap or hand sanitizer. These have harsh chemicals that cause your hands to dry and crack, opening you to infection. (If not the swine flu, than something else). USE PLAIN SOAP AND WARM WATER.
5.) Don’t spend all time inside, and don’t become a total germophobe. Every time your body fights foreign bodies inside of it, it’s immune system gets stronger. This doesn’t mean exposing yourself to huge levels of pathogens.
6.) Healthy diet, high in fruits containing citric acids, onions, and garlic.
7.) As the article above states, stay inside if you are sick, and continue doing the above steps.
8.) If water and soap is not available use waterless alcohol-based hand gels (containing at least 60% alcohol) when soap is not available and hands are not visibly dirty.
9.) Cover your mouth with a surgical mask on going to crowded places.
10.) If your are pregnant then take extra care in taking up the above measures.
If you have already got flu:
1-Avoid people and stay at home.no work, travel, summer schools, shopping, movies or any crowded place.
2-Wear mask to protect others.
3-If you have to cough or sneeze use a tissue and then toss in a dust bin and wash your hands. No tissues handy? Turn your face into the crook of your elbow, to keep germs from flying away.
3-Vitamin C is a viricide, but it has to be taken often and in amounts to kill the virus.
4-On noticing flu symptoms please consult a doctor no “gharalu totkey”.
I know the attitude of us, Pakistanis, everyone will say “jo hona hai woh to hoga” then why bother but you know there are positive cases in our neighbouring India and Pakistanis travel to India and espacially to Saudi Arabia with the umra and Hajj season coming up there is a potential threat.

the spread of AH1N1 or Swine Flu is really scary. It is a good thing that this virus is not very deadly. We are advised to take Vitamin-C and to wear face masks.
the use of face masks and boosting your immune system by taking lots of vitamin-C is still an effective way of preventing the spread of the Swine Flu virus.
i always advice my kids to wear face masks when going into crowded areas. swine flu is really scary and i dont want my kids getting infected by it.
I have a relative who got the Swine Flu in Mexico. It is a good thing that he already recovered from this disease.
The media do seem to be hyping this up, myself and some friends had swine flu and while it was not a nice experience the symptoms were fairly mild.
I had a family member get really sick and die from the Swine Flu. She is not here anymore…she will not have another chance at life because of this stupid disease! She was only 22 yrs old! Wear the masks, eat veggies…juice veggies if you don’t like to eat them. Wheat grass is good….or a green juice (kale, collard greens, spinach, celery, and cucumbers is awesome!-1 carrot makes it sweet). Chase the juice with an orange or lemon to kill the taste.
Wash your hands and closely monitor your children. Talk to your kids about this so they won’t be kissing, sharing sodas, hi-5′in, sharing cell phones, etc. This is SERIOUS!
I am really sad to hear this….May God bless her….yes we have to be careful, very careful. Thanks for sharing.
