Code of conduct: NA candidate among 33 PML-N workers arrested, 25 flee
Looks like Election Commission of Pakistan is finally taking some action in implementation of the code of conduct declared earlier. It was only yesterday night when we witnessed campaign songs played on loud speakers fitted on a suzuki pickup by a candidate from NA-48 and going in each street of sector G-10. Is there a complaint helpline where these incidents could be reported in time?

Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower. ~Albert Camus
As the wind quietly changed, a slight chill has settled into its folds signalling that winter is waiting to creep upon us. Preparation of winter begins as our scenery changes colours! Summer trees are showing all shades of red, orange, yellow and brown. Its like our streets have changed costumes and this change is very pleasant as autumn is the perfect pause between the opposing miseries of ... Read More

This breath taking view of Margalla Hills shows how the recent rains brought relief and happiness to the Isloo people till today morning. When a commercial plane (Air Blue Airbus flight A-321) crashed with 159 people on board. Yesterday's beautiful scene is filled with horror and sorrow today. It is still raining... the scene is the same, same clouds covering the top of hills, same streets, same green patches. Every spot in Islamabad is a perfect screenshot for the nature ... Read More

Liz Hoggard writes in London Evening Standard
I don't have to do this,” Imran Khan tells me earnestly. “I could have a very easy existence. I could go on TV and make so much money, live like a king.” Instead the retired international cricketer, and former husband of Jemima Khan, has dedicated his life to politics back home in Pakistan. Jemima, the daughter of the late financier, Sir James Goldsmith, may just have bought a £15 million stately pile in Oxfordshire, but Imran lives hand-to-mouth on a ... Read More

Margalla Hills are a permanent part of our lives, the residents of Islamabad. They just stand in the background and add to the federal capital’s charm. For nature lovers, like me, they are 'a thing of beauty’ which is ‘a joy forever’.
Yesterday while driving my kids back from school I saw clouds of smoke emerging from the hills. It is sad to see these beautiful hills on fire every year. A little match stick can do the trick or maybe ... Read More

There are iftar and dinner offers of various hotels and resturants all over Islamabad . These normally range from minimum Rs 400 to Rs 900 per head. Which means one person will eat one meal worth this much. We have so many poor people in our country and we all have had atleast a few chances to witness these iftar buffets. We know how much food is wasted and thrown away. People fill their plates and leave them and refill ... Read More

Some worrying developments are taking place in our capital. Islamabad has changed so much since this war on terror started. Our residental areas have concrete blockages, our main streets like (Margalla Road at various points, Road in F6 which leads to ICG) are closed for public use. CDA made so much effort in spreading this road network but now "VIP" security has made all these newly made roads UGLY!!!
