We still start our days with the hope of a peaceful day but .... everyday events of the past months have been nerve reckoning for us. I am hoping against hope for this madness to end. The blood of innocent have taken our happiness, laughter and sleep away.
Only prayers are not enough, concerned authorities should either play their role or admit their failure. This song "Awain na kar zulm" by Abrar ul Haq raises this very sensitive issue and it ... Read More

Loadshedding in Pakistan has made the lives of citizens miserable and the hike in electricity charges will be the last blow for the honest middle class of Pakistan which is already disappearing. They have no option left in these times but to join the rich class which obviously can't be done without crossing over the "honesty line". Second option is the join the majority(poor) quietly and wait for a slow death.
On a lighter note people with generators and these electricity ... Read More

Interesting editorial in todays "the news"
Tuesday, July 14, 2009
Ours is an increasingly 'watched' society, and the means of watching is changing and advancing all the time. Some have the misfortune to be watched by drones, with disaggregation a consequence. So many had expected so much from Obama the thinking, intelligent and more world-sensitive US president. But what we are seeing around our part of the world is more of the same with the new veneer eroding fast. More force; more aggression; more dictation.
Shireen M Mazari
Obama is certainly stretching his global goodwill to its limits. After critiquing the US invasion of Iraq when out of power, he has upped the military ante with the surge in Afghanistan; refocused on the ... Read More

We in Pakistan are having a full dose of terrorism and are giving our precious blood to fight it on our own soil. We have assumed that swine flu is happening in other countries only BUT I request the government to take at least the precautionary measures because we have people coming to Pakistan from all over the world. Our airports are not equipped to deal with the sick travellers. People who provided us with the security cameras forgot to ... Read More
