These are pictures worth a thousand words! I am speechless at the intensity of their need, need for help, need for food, need to survive!
Watching flood coverage on tv screens all day makes us immune and we do not realize the magnitude of the disaster.
Please help these people in whatever way you can. On such days I wish to be "man" so I am free to leave the comforts of my house and do some "real" help.

Every morning I see tens of workers cleaning the streets of Islamabad but the sad part is when these people have a holiday on Sunday our streets are littered in one day. It says a lot about the general attitude of people. We think it is others duty to clean and we have a right to throw litter where ever we want to.
Anti-littering drive has started in Islamabad for celebrating the golden jubilee of our capital city. CDA chairman, Imtiaz ... Read More

This news may bring a smile on your face too that a "Pakistani" pigeon is held by Indian Police on suspision of spying for Pakistan. Indians better start issuing visas to pigeons, goats, cows and crows! It requires very high level of intelligence to catch a bird spy which is seen in Indians only. The funniest part is that the bird is not allowed to have any visitors but in this hot weather it can enjoy Indian hospitability in an aircontioned ... Read More

The prints of Mausummery Lawn 2010 were impressive but prices were high. They followed the general trend in Pakistan by charging a much higher price than last year..... Rs 1330 for a three piece suit.
You all must have known that this is the only lawn I love to write about. They do not make innovative designs, rather their designs follow the same trend which has become their trade mark. What impresses me is that year after year they have managed ... Read More

Dr Farrukh Saleem writes ....He raises some very logical points.
America would look after its interests. We must look after our own.
America is neither Pakistan's friend nor its foe. Of the 192 countries on the face of the planet America loves just one. And, that country is: America. Everywhere else it's American national interests - political, economic and strategic.

A timely decision...I am glad that our government took this action to show solidarity with the cause.
Facebook proved to be a wonderful medium for locating people and staying in touch with them regularly but this is how people misuse things and create problems for all.
The News states....
"LAHORE: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has blocked Facebook over a competition encouraging its users to post caricatures of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) on the social networking site.
Earlier in the day, the LHC ordered authorities ... Read More

What a nice way to go!! Mr Gordon Brown leaves 10 Downing st. after an emotional farewell speech. He admits defeat, he said "good bye" and went away with his wife and cute little boys. What a lovely sight.....when a prime minister of a country leaves the office like any other job. He seems so human. So normal.
Adding to all this he said 'Sarah and I may go off and do charity work'. All the best to this lovely family!

It seems like an old age fairy tale where the people of the land are well connected with the King. People of Bhutan have imposed a ban on their marriages throughout the country until their Oxford educated 30-year-old King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck announces the date of his marriage. Can we show such unity and solidarity in more important issues then "marriage".
Bhutan is one of the world's smallest and least developed economies. I have heard they are happy without the ... Read More
